Edpuzzle

Edpuzzle is an amazing resource for teachers looking to switch up their instruction. They have tons of videos on all kinds of subject matter, and you are able to add pauses in the video with questions that students must answer before continuing. There are also lots of videos that are ready to go with pauses throughout! This resource is easy to use and very helpful! Check out this example video on how to calculate surface area!

Blooket

Blooket is a formative assessment resource that is so fun for both teachers and students! With Blooket, you can add in questions for students to answer and choose from a variety of games for students to join and play! It is also possible to assign a Blooket for homework so that students can review on their own time. Blooket is great for engaging students and allows them to have some fun while they review!

How do these tools relate to ISTE?
How can I use these in my classroom?

Edpuzzle and Blooket are amazing resources that have a ton of connections to ISTE for students and teachers. ISTE states that students should be empowered learners. Allowing students to use these resources both in and out of class allows them to take control of their education and review material on their own. ISTE also states that teachers should be designers. Edpuzzle and Blooket allow teachers to design specific instructional tools for students to use in order to further their understanding of the material!

It is so important to keep students engaged in what we do in our classroom. Having students do countless review problems in the same style is not always the most effective way we can be teaching our kids. Using these resources allows teachers to switch up the way that we review material, and ensures that our students stay engaged in our class. Edpuzzle and Blooket are fantastic resources for teachers to use in their classrooms!
